Pope's Prayer Intentions

May 2008

General: That Christians may use literature, art and the media to greater advantage to favour a culture which defends and promotes the values of the human person

Mission: That just as she accompanied the Apostles in the early stages of the Church, may the Blessed Virgin Mary, Star of Evangelization and Queen of Apostles, continue to guide missionaries throughout the world with maternal affection.

Papal Visit Results in Big Jump in Positive View of Benedict and Church
A poll taken immediately following the conclusion of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the United States shows that it had a powerful impact on public attitudes toward the pope, the Church, and a willingness to live their faith more fully. According to the poll, 65 percent of Americans have a more positive view of Pope Benedict as a result of what they saw and heard during his visit.   Select title link above for the full report.

Congressional Military and Veterans Appreciation Concert

Please get the word out on the “Healing for the Nations” A Congressional Military and Veterans Appreciation Concert that will be held at the National Shrine on Wednesday May 14th at 8:00 PM.

Please disseminate the attached flyer to encourage attendence.

The Knights in the usher ministry will be serving at the concert. This will be an ideal opportunity for those Knights and their families to show their appreciation for what our Military and veterans have done for our country and continue to do.

Should you have any questions concerning this request or desire more information please do not hesitate to call or email me.

KofC Virginia District May he rest in Peace -- Fr. Edward L. Richardson, SMA

Brothers:

A few minutes after SD Lenny Pulizzi sent out the following message on Father's condition, he received a phone call advising that Father had passed away. There are no further details at this time other than we believe that there will be no wake or funeral until after the Convention next weekend.

I will send along any details as soon as they are received.

Fraternally,

Richie Head
